Credit cards and plastic money

Keep your credit or debit cards safe and check your statements!

Many guests in Switzerland today use their credit or debit cards. These cards make payments easier and protect you from losing cash.

Fraudsters will however try to get to your credit or debit card details to use them fraudulently. Protect yourself from card fraud and act immediately if your credit or debit card gets lost or incorrect withdrawals appear on your statement.

You have lost your credit or debit card!

As soon as you notice that you have lost your credit or debit card or you have been given the wrong card, block your card immediately. In this situation you are only liable for a small amount, as long as you have not acted negligently.
  • Please note down the number of your credit or debit care and store it separately from the credit or debit card.
  • Please note the telephone number of the bank that issued your credit or debit card, so that you are able to block your card with them.

On your statement purchases appear which have not been made by you!

As soon as you notice that withdrawals are made on your credit or debit card statement which you have not made, contact your card issuer immediately. Normally it is the bank, where you have your bank account. It is important that you contact them immediately so that your bank can make investigations and protect you from further loss.
  • Please note down the number of your credit or debit care and store it separately from the credit or debit card.
  • Please note the telephone number of the bank that issued your credit or debit card, so that you are able to block your card with them.
