Ziel dieser Emails ist es an die Zugangsdaten der Spielern zu kommen. Was die Phisher mit diesen Daten wirklich wollen ist unklar. Klar hingegen ist, dass es nichts Gutes ist. Auch kann es sein, dass die Webseite selbst, welche im E-Mail erwähnt wird, Schadcode/ Malware verbreitet. Blizzard, die Betreiber von WOW bestätigen, dass Ihre Angestellten, genau wie Bankangestellte, nie nach Passwort und Login Informationen fragen würden.
