ZURICH: SEVERAL MINOR QUARRELLS. The warm weather conditions caused large attendance in Zurich. The police forces noticed several minor quarrels after midnight. The incoming calls due to the noise around the fan mile have slightly increased. (Source www.security2008.ch) MESSAGE TO EDITORIAL DEPARTMENTS: The last match of the UEFA EURO 2008 to be held in Switzerland will take place with the semi-finals on 25 June 2008 in Basle. This coming Thursday, on 26 June 2008, Federal Councillor Samuel Schmid, Head of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sports, will present an initial report on the UEFA EURO 2008 in Switzerland. He will be accompanied by the Federal Council Delegate for the UEFA EURO 2008, Benedikt Weibel, who will also present preliminary figures. The media conference will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2008, at 3:00 pm in the Federal Palace Media Centre. The final media briefing for Switzerland with Benedikt Weibel will be held in the media center of the host city of Berne on Sunday, 22 June 2008, at 11:30 am. (Source: www.securityeuro2008.ch) MISSING MODEL AIRCRAFT LOCATED A model aircraft which was missing since last Saturday could be located from the air by the commander of the cantonal and local police forces of Zurich, who were operating from the air. The steersman had lost contact to his model aircraft after he was confused by another model aircraft. During one of the air traffic control rounds which are undertaken during the EURO 2008 a helicopter pilot spotted the model aircraft over Nassenwil where it had crashed in a cornfield (Source: www.securityeuro2008.ch) |
