After initial treatment was provided for the injured woman at the first aid station she was brought to hospital by Protection and Rescue Zurich. Several hundred predominant spanish supporters assembled at the Langstrasse during and after the final match. Due to this the Langstrasse had to be closed for individual traffic between Militärstrasse and Dienerstrasse between 11 p.m. and 02.15 a.m. On the remaining cantonal area, the night passed absolutely peacefully at all EURO-2008-events. The police forces of the Canton of Zurich, the Zurich City Police and Protection and Rescue Zurich drew their final balance now. The mobile police station next to the UBS arena was frequently visited by individuals with all sorts of problems.

WINTERTHUR: ASSAULTS. In Winterthur everything remained calm after the match between Italy and Spain had finished. Only a little quarrel between Italians and Spaniards in a public viewing area occurred an hour before kick-off. It came to assaults whereas one individual was injured at its hand. The injured needed medical treatment in hospital. The Zeughausstrasse as well as the Technikumstrasse had to be closed for half an hour du to the large volume of traffic.

CAPSIZED: At the later Sunday afternoon six police officers of the Zurich City Police took an involuntary cooling in the Limmat. Not far from the Münsterbrücke a squad boat capsized shortly after 07.30 p.m. The cause of the overturn that led two boat-guards and four passengers to have an involuntary bath is still open yet. The river police drove swiftly to the scene of action with several lifeboats to rescue their comrades who floated in their life jackets. After the rescue, the boat was retrieved as well. After the involuntary cooling the officers provided their service in fresh uniforms. (Source: www.securityeuro2008.ch)

SECURITY WINS 1:0. Also before the upcoming semi-finals in Basel on Wednesday between Germany and Turkey the well proofed “One-Stop-Controls” at all boarders to Switzerland will be sustained. Due to execution of formless rejection and the denied entry by the Swiss Border Guard Corps (BGC), violent fans will be deterred! The BGC will therefore be supported by the German Federal Police.
